Dr. Sophia Rahman grew up in Gainesville, Texas, where her father — Dr. Pervaiz Rahman — instilled in her a deep passion for medicine and community service. She earned degrees from Texas A&M University and Southern Methodist University before receiving her medical degree from St. Matthew's University School of Medicine in 2010. She completed her Internal Medicine residency at New York Methodist Hospital in Brooklyn in 2013.
Board certified in Internal Medicine, Dr. Rahman is the owner of Sophia Rahman MD PLLC in Plano, Texas, where she focuses on primary care, advanced aesthetics, chronic disease management, and weight management. She is fluent in English, Hindi, Urdu, and American Sign Language.
Dr. Rahman has been recognized as a D Magazine Top Doctor every year since 2020. She serves on the Pediatric Acute-Onset Neuropsychiatric Syndrome (PANS) Advisory Council, is a board member of Project Access Collin County and Collin County Fannin County Medical Society, a member of the Texas Medical Association, and serves on the boards of several nonprofit organizations. She is passionate about giving back to the community and actively volunteers with local medical and nonprofit organizations.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Rahman enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, and cooking various cuisines.
